“Spread the Love to Those Who Need it the Most!!!”

The ‘Best Love’ is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more,

That plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our Minds.

Valentine's Day is celebrated all over the world as a celebration of Love. The popularity of Valentine's Day has led to the flooding of markets with Valentine's Day gifts. It is sad to see how the importance of Valentine's Day changed in present times.
Every year, on the 14th day of February, millions across the world present their loved ones with candy, flowers, chocolates and such other Valentine's Day gifts.

Valentine's Day is considered as an occasion to celebrate all beautiful human relationships. The festival has come to be known as the day to celebrate love in all forms. People make it a point to wish ‘Happy Valentine's Day' to their friends, parents, siblings, teachers or anyone they consider special.

To continue the initiative of last year and celebrate the ‘Spirit of Valentine’s Day’ in a unique way WM Logistics Indore planned to

“Spread the Love to Those Who Need it the Most!!!”

Like last year, WM Logistics Indore planned to celebrate this Day with Samarpan Care Awareness and Rehabilitation Center. They run a program to improve living conditions/well-being of the poor and needy children of near-by slum areas by educating them. On February 13, 2015 WM Logistics employees spent their quality time with these kids by playing fun-filled/ educative games like treasure hunt and then to distribute stationery, goodies and snacks.

The day stated with the introduction of Volunteers, Teachers of the school and kids. All the children were excited and ready for the treasure hunt activity after the snacks break. The volunteers aptly prepared the questions/clues where the kids had to answer simple questions like additions/subtractions, Pictionary etc. and perform easy tasks like preparing boats, blowing balloons etc. All the kids participated with full vigor to be the “WINNER”. The winning team was awarded with prizes at the end of event.

Apart from this prize, all the kids were given small gifts like notebooks, pencils, crayons etc. by WM Logistics Indore.

The employees were happy to be part of this CSR Activity. Let’s hear them out in their testimonials below.

Feeling energetic and satisfied by spending time with the Kids.  Games added fun to it.

- Anand Malu

The experience I had today's in CSR activity was much more than what I had expected. The feeling experienced while spending time with students was great. I am proud that I am part of such a team and activity. We actually saw the smart students in a bucolic area's school.

-Deepak Sharma

First of all, I would like to thank WM for giving me the opportunity to be a part of this wonderful organization where such activities are going on. For me it was very nice to share love with kids & enjoying with them, it is such a great experience in my life.

-Sanjay Vishwakarma

“From what we get, we can make a living; what we give, however, makes a life.”
It was a great experience to see such smart kids at the school but the plight of the school was bit saddening. We had fun time with all the children there and loved the enthusiasm they carried which was fantastic.
I would love to go there again and work with the school towards improving the education that those kids are receiving. We must do this on a regular basis and should come up with an agenda on how to do it in a much more concrete fashion.
Really, appreciate the E2 team efforts in doing all this and helping the society. Kudos to E2 team!

-Neha Thakur

When it comes to single line explanation, I would say Bachpan (childhood) and Samarpan (dedication). We have to take care of one (Bachpan) and should keep the right attitude for the second (Samarpan).

-Ankit Tripathi

It was a golden opportunity for WM Logistics Employees to render a small helping hand to the noble cause of Samarpan Care Centre.

Waste Management Open—big impact on economy, little on environment

The Waste Management Phoenix Open may attract 600,000 attendees January 26-February 1, 2015. In addition to boosting the economy of the Phoenix Metropolitan area, the tournament seeks to educate the attendees about sustainability and water conservation.

The benefits of life in Arizona were obvious on January 28, 2015, as the sun shown brightly over the meticulous greens of TPC Scottsdale. The Waste Management Phoenix Open, which hopes to set new attendance records the week between the Bowl games, kicked off with the Annexus Pro-Am.
The WM Open has been growing annually in popularity, even despite the absence of Tiger Woods since 2001. Over 500,000 attended last year. In 2015, with Tiger’s return, celebrities, athletes, and corporations in town for the Super Bowl, and, weather permitting, the crowds might number 600,000A study by Arizona State University in 2012 estimated the economic impact of the Open to be $222 million.
“The Greatest Show on Grass” enjoys the sponsorship of large corporations, like FedEx, featured in the on-site vendors’ tent. But local hotels (which would be close to capacity, even without the Big Game), restaurants and smaller businesses, also, benefit. For instance, Hollywood’s Productions wrapped Coors Light RV, which frequents Phoenix and Vegas, will be hosting VIPs all week at the popular Bird’s Nest after-hours party area.
A common question among Arizonans, who remember the previous sponsor FBR, is why Waste Management decided to sponsor a golf tournament. “The Open allows us to make a difference, “ said Janette Micelli, WM’s Manager of External Communications, “By demonstrating that the largest US golf tournament could have the smallest footprint on the environment.”
WM is unique in having earned a Gold Certification from the Council for Responsible Sport in 2013-14 and a UL Environment Zero Waste-to-Landfill Validation. Attendees at the Open this year will be reminded at every turn to “Think Green.” Over 6000 Recycling/Composting bins have replaced trashcans. Renewable energy is being used to power the tournament, while greenhouse gas emissions are being offset. All food and beverage items at the concession stands are recyclable or compostable.
Golf fans were being encouraged to participate by pledging to conserve water (by texting "WMPO" to 77177 or visiting website wmpo.changethecourse.us this week), conversing on #greenestshow, or coming on January 31, where one dollar is donated to environmental charities for each person wearing something green.
The WM Phoenix Open will have a significant impact on the economy of Phoenix this week. But Waste Management will also ensure that it has an insignificant impact on the environment now and in the future by raising the environmental consciousness of its record crowds.
